Attention: Soft Skills Required

Has anyone ever asked you asked what you wanted to be when you grew up? What were your first thoughts? Did you think about the skills you would need or some of the “cool” jobs?

Whether you are starting your first job or the jo
b of your dreams, there are some skills that are necessary, regardless of your title. These types of skills are called social skills or skills in the workplace (Soft Skills).

Someone told me that I could have all the smart books in the world, but if you don't have common sense, I would be nothing more than a stupid being than a box of stones. It takes a lot more than just “book skills” or academic and technical skills. It requires day-to-day skills that you may have learned from your past parents, teachers, family, friends or co-workers. These soft skills at work include:

* Start working on time (attendance),

* Dress appropriately for work (self-introduction),

* Know how to use the equipment at work (technical skills),

* Treat others with respect or treat them as you wish to be treated (teamwork),

* Have a positive and positive attitude (show initiative),

* Using social networks (computer skills),

* Writing a newspaper (communication), and / or

* Work or fix things (problem solving skills).

You have these skills to some extent. Take a look at examples of social skills and see how they relate to your past experiences. See definitions of these skills and ask yourself:

What examples in my life can I use to show that I have this ability?

Did I use this skill while working on a school project? Volunteering? Previous work? Hobbies?

* What are my interests? What skills do I like? What skills do I have difficulty with?

* What are my top 3 strongest personal skills?

* What are my 3 weakest social skills? How will you improve these skills?

You can undoubtedly “sell” your skills to a potential employer by including them in your resume and interviews.

* Know yourself and what you have to offer.

* Inform employers about the skill that you have and that relates to the job for which you are applying.

These skills play a vital role when applying for a job and keeping it as soon as you are hired. These are the skills that employers are looking for and demanding today.
